Title: School Psychologist – Practicum Student

 

Reports To:  Coordinator, School Psychology and/or School Psychologist

 

Position Purpose:

Conduct assessments, consultations and functional behavior assessments/behavior intervention plans.

 

Qualifications:

Eligible for School Psychology practicum placement.

 

Knowledge/Ability/Skills:

Ability to accurately conduct assessments.

Knowledge of assessment, counseling and behavior management practices and applications.

Ability to prepare accurate behavior assessments and plans.

 

Physical/Emotional Requirements:  The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee is required to interact with staff, students and to meet demands from several people. 

 

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Participate successfully in assessment training
  2. Participate in weekly supervision meetings with supervising psychologist
  3. Attend GEi as assigned
  4. Conduct observations as assigned
  5. Conduct functional behavior assessments and create behavior plans as assigned
  6. Conduct counseling
  7. Assist supervising school psychologist in other duties as assigned
  8. Meet all other requirements assigned to complete a successful practicum

 

Terms of Employment:

 

9 months; Work is part-time/temporary. District or departmental professional development will not be included in that work week.
